Award-winning automotive journalist Gary Witzenburg has been writing about automobiles, auto design, auto people and the auto industry for 38 years. A mechanical engineering graduate of Duke University, he is a former U.S. Navy officer, auto engineer, race driver and advanced technology vehicle development manager who has authored 10 automotive books. His work has appeared in a wide variety of national magazines, including The Robb Report, Playboy, Popular Mechanics, Car and Driver, Road & Track, Motor Trend, Motor Trend Truck Trend, Autoweek, and Automobile Quarterly. He is currently a contributing editor to Collectible Automobile and Corvette magazines, a correspondent to WardsAuto.com, a regular contributor to hagerty.com and recent past President (2020-2022) of the North American Car, Truck and Utility vehicle of the Year (NACTOY) Awards.
